Bridal alterations- terms and conditions


  • Quotes are based on information available at the time the quote is given. Changes made after the quote is given may require extra work and therefore incur extra costs.
  • Deadlines can only be guaranteed if they are made at the initial consultation, and the client gives full co-operation in meeting these deadlines.
  • You MUST bring the correct shoes and underwear to your appointment, if these are not available your fitting will be rescheduled and a missed appointment charge will be made.
  • Please inform me if there is a possibility of weight loss, gain, or pregnancy. This can substantially affect fit so fitting will need to be scheduled accordingly. It may also affect the cost of your alterations.
  • Payment is to be made at the second fitting, or one (1) calendar month after the first fitting whichever is earlier.
  • Direct bank transfer or cash is preferred, however Credit Card and debit cards are accepted.
  • Small pieces of fabric are often left when alterations are completed. Unless specifically requested otherwise, fabric remnants are disposed of.
  • Alterations are completed as discussed at time of fitting. Please ensure you are happy with the fit at this point, further changes will be charged for at the appropriate rate
  • The method of finishing will be, as far as is possible, similar to those used on the original garment. Where this is not possible the decision on methods used is mine.
  • Please note I recommend a minimum of two fittings per garment, without the recommended number of fittings the final result is not guaranteed. Nor I make any guarantee of fit if do you do not inform me of weight loss plans or pregnancy.
  • Cancellation of this work after initial fitting will incur a cancellation charge, the garment will not be released until this is paid.
  • 24 hours notice (minimum) is required to cancel/change appointments, or a cancellation charge will be incurred.
  • In the event of any breach of contract, your remedies shall be limited to damages and under no circumstances shall my liability exceed the price of the garment(s) and, if not included in the price, the cost of any materials (excluding delivery charges).
